Pioneering placemaking in action.

Trinity Leeds is a shopping and leisure centre that has turned the city into a premier retail destination. Opened in March 2013, the centre’s design set the benchmark for modern shopping centres worldwide.

Stunning made safe.

The scheme includes a mix of large multi-storey units for anchor and flagship tenants, plus smaller individual units.

The project was part new build, part refurbishment. Trinity East is a new-build development on the site of the former Trinity and Burton Arcades, while Trinity West is the redeveloped Leeds Shopping Plaza.

We supported the extensive remodelling of the internal space, which created a naturally ventilating three-storey open shopping and leisure area. As well as completing extensive modelling and assessments for fire engineering and acoustics, our experts crafted a vertical transportation design that safely and efficiently moves people around the space.

New life to Leeds.

Our work on this project spanned many years and a range of our services, and helped realise the ‘placemaking’ philosophy behind the project. Bringing 65 new brands to the city (including 22 international retailers), Trinity Leeds has been celebrated as the reason for the city’s revitalised retail market and for growing its status to one of the top three shopping venues in the UK.
