The best of both worlds.

Heckfield Place Hotel is the result of the meticulous restoration and refurbishment of an exquisite Georgian manor house, first built as a home in 1785. The brief was to transform this estate into a world-class five-star-plus idyllic country retreat – offering the perfect synthesis of nature with luxury accommodation, Michelin-starred dining, a wellbeing-focused spa, and high-quality conference facilities.

Unique demands.

Sustainability was at the heart of the development, and our solutions helped to deliver the levels of luxury that a five-star-plus hotel, while ensuring the best possible energy efficiency thanks to biomass heating.

One of our biggest challenges on this unique project was helping to deliver an underground 120-seat auditorium ‘screening room’, plus bar and wine cellar. The associated MEP plant for both the screening room and kitchens was complex, and our brief from the client was for it to meet the highest standards of resilience…

No compromises.

Our solution was to design an offsite energy centre in order to provide this ‘mission critical’ support. The complex itself is then served via an intelligent site infrastructure network.

This was a true example of a creative solution that delivers against two key elements of the brief: the energy centre’s remote location ensured the natural ambience of the country retreat was not disturbed, and the on-site network allows the commercial facilities to be serviced and located at the heart of the development. Ultimately, these unseen elements of Heckfield Place allow it to deliver the standards of luxury and service that set it apart in the eyes of its visitors.
