A flagship of flexibility.

London2 is VIRTUS’ flagship data centre in the UK, designed to meet the growing demand for scalable, reliable, on-demand colocation services.

The facility, designed to deliver high-quality customer solutions, has six data halls. These are all capable of being subdivided, which means VIRTUS’ clients can have anything from a cabinet in a shared space, to their own suite or data hall with dedicated power and cooling.

Energy efficiency.

We acted as MEP consultants for the project, providing the detailed design for all critical mechanical, electrical and public health, BMS and EMS systems, and undertook detailed data hall CFD modelling studies.

We deployed a new ground-breaking fresh-air, evaporative cooling technology for this large-scale project. The solution dramatically decreases energy consumption, bringing site Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) to below 1.2 and delivering substantial TCO reductions to VIRTUS’ clients. It also makes London2 the first data centre in the city to utilise this technology.

Client critical.

London2 is also designed to offer N+N redundancy on Uninterruptable Power Source, and N+1 on all other critical services. We also incorporated new innovative on-line real-time monitoring dashboards and self-service tools. These can be used by clients either remotely, or in one of the customer-friendly dedicated rooms or café areas that are designed into the facility.
