FaST work: smart new site-noise tool saves time, money & energy
Do you fund, procure, design, or specify buildings and want to definitively demonstrate that your building is net zero carbon aligned? Then the UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard is for you. The pilot version launched on 24 September 2024 and there are a few simple ways to understand the goals it sets to achieve.
Download the standard and give it a read. The UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard is a free-to-access technical standard that will enable the construction industry to robustly prove that built assets align with the UK’s carbon and energy budgets.
The Net Zero Carbon Building Standard team are running a webinar at 10:00am on 31 October 2024. Attendees will get an overview of the standard, a recap of its principles and how it was created.

We also helped to develop the standard. Several of our staff were industry expert volunteers on to develop the NZCBS and would be happy to speak to you about it. Eimear Moloney worked in the operational energy task group and Tom Spurrier worked in the top-down task group. We also worked in six sector groups covering healthcare, data centres, retail, higher education, science & technology and logistics & warehouses:
Data Centres – Jon Nuttall, Derek Main, Anders Eklund
Higher Education – Phil Mannis
Logistics/ Warehouses – Luke Blyth
Offices – Alice Jackson, Will Bellfield
Science & Technology – Jack Tinsley, Shane Mellon
The Net Zero Carbon Building Standard team is launching a pilot scheme at the end of 2024 to gather feedback on the process of implementing the standard. You can register your interest in this now.
