Ruth Kelly Waskett: President Elect, The Society of Light & Lighting.

Leading the industry.

The Society of Light and Lighting (SLL) is a division of CIBSE that works with the world of light, lighting and its design or application.

Following a four-year Vice Presidency, in May 2021 Ruth Kelly Waskett will become SLL’s President.

Ruth has a rich background in engineering, lighting design and academia. She is dedicated to showcasing how daylight can bring buildings to life and the positive impact it has on our health and wellbeing.

As President, she hopes to lead the Society as it aims to tackle challenges within the industry,  highlight the importance of a well-rounded perspective, and promote how light and daylight can be used as an integrated tool.

I’m honoured and excited to be taking up the role of SLL President this year. I’m really looking forward to playing a part in spreading the message about the power of light in making us healthier and happier.
