Al Bayt Stadium

Qatar, UAE

Ready for kick-off.

The 60,000-seat Al Bayt Stadium has a distinctive design that honours Qatar’s rich history and we have played our part in bringing it to life.

An accelerated scheme.

The project delivery was laced with time pressures. The design and on-site installation had to be in accordance with the strict FIFA 2022 programme. This was paired with the stadium having limited space for plant, and significant sustainability aspirations.

We were responsible for reviewing the plant areas and re-planning where necessary. We collaborated with the FM Advisors, Main Contractor and MEP Sub-contractor to agree a design, demonstrating routes and methodologies for the replacement or removal of plant.

We reviewed the build programme to help us prioritise the construction of the plant rooms. With this we were able to assess their function and maintenance in a structured timeline.

The start of a legacy.

The Supreme Committee recommend us for this project as we are one of the best performers on the other stadium projects. We have a detailed understanding of stadium operations and worked closely with our client to fully understand their proposals, incorporating their feedback into the final design. We then workshopped these with the FM Advisors to provide further perspective on the operation of the stadium during base build, competition and legacy.

Now complete, the stadium will make a global mark, hosting the opening match of the FIFA World Cup 2022 and fixtures right through to the semi-finals.
