Constructing a combustion-free future – part 2.
Our Sustainability Group is celebrating a major milestone after the hotel building at One Blackfriars, London – in collaboration with the developer (St George), and main contractor (Multiplex) – was awarded the 100th BREEAM Excellent by our firm.
BREEAM is a globally recognised benchmark of a building’s environmental sustainability performance. Hoare Lea has been involved with BREEAM since the first office assessment scheme was launched in 1990, though our first certificate wasn’t achieved until January 2004.
Since this time, we’ve grown to become industry leaders in this field – and achieving 100 BREEAM Excellent assessments presents an opportunity to reflect on this journey, as well as look forward to the next hundred and beyond!
On behalf of BRE Global Limited, Martin Townsend, Director of Sustainability, said: “Achieving its 100th BREEAM Excellent certificate truly is a celebration and demonstration that Hoare Lea continues to drive and delight clients. It shows they give them the very best services and buildings they can, with all employees taking a true pride in rising to the constant challenge of innovating and driving change.”
Partner James Ford adds: “This is the culmination of many years of work, and a fantastic achievement for the Hoare Lea team. We are continuing to develop our capabilities and build our resources in this area. Looking ahead we see an exciting future working alongside BRE and our clients to help deliver outstanding buildings that work.”
