Essoldo House.
Chelsea, London, UK
Future-proofed, feature-rich smart spaces.
In the heart of Chelsea sits 279 King’s Road – the site of an iconic cinema theatre that dates back to 1910. The new building will honour this heritage with a mixed-use development that retains the cinema theatre, along with 11 luxury residential apartments, and a range of retail units.
Control and customisation.
Our Intelligent Building’s group was brought onto the design team to develop infrastructure and system designs that would turn the residential floors into connected smart apartments.
Smart keypads, integrated thermostats, and PIR automation sensors within each apartment will give occupants intuitive and automated control of their heating, ventilation, air conditioning, lighting, and motorised blinds. We also provided additional centrally-located master touch-screen controllers to give them greater control and customisation.
Future flexibility.
Our audiovisual designs included fully integrated multi-room zoned audio systems, with ceiling integrated loudspeakers and centrally managed Sonos network amplifiers. Further to this, we added a video intercom system that has intuitive door entry and lift call/send functionality. While television / home cinema systems were not included within the fit-out designs, we incorporated extensive infrastructure to enable their future inclusion.
Our overarching aim was to provide a feature-rich smart apartment system that can easily be expanded thanks to future-proofed standardised infrastructure – all with minimal impact to living areas.
The result is a flexible and customisable solution that caters to the possible future technological aspirations and needs of the occupants.
