I believe that engineering is one of the key components for creating cohesive and inclusive communities. It was this belief that led me to join Hoare Lea in 2002, where I subsequently founded the firm’s Vertical Transportation group. Since then, I’ve had the pleasure of working on a wide range of UK and international projects.

Engineering human experiences.

I have a unique understanding of the property world and, in particular, how clients can maximise building performance to optimise space and financial return. I passionately believe that intuitive design both improves and enhances the experience of building users.

A defining moment.

In 2014 I was asked to appear on a technical piece called ‘The Trouble with Lifts’ for BBC Two’s Newsnight. The feature focused on the issues that vertical transportation can cause, the design constraints, and the opportunities it provides when done well. Filming took place at the Heron Tower, one of the tallest skyscrapers in London’s financial district, where I was interviewed as a vertical transportation expert.
