Valuable experience and a comprehensive understanding of the built environment.

I started my career as…

…an Apprentice Electrician, working across multiple building services sectors (largely healthcare, MOD and education) and then progressing to Contracts Manager. This provided me with valuable experience and a comprehensive understanding of the built environment.

My transition to Hoare Lea as an Electrical Engineer…

…allowed me to take on a new challenge and develop my technical skills by working on diverse projects across the UK. I gained my Chartership in 2020 and have been fortunate to work across a number of sectors delivering a wide range of projects ranging in size and complexity. Now I primarily focus on driving the Integrated Retirement Communities (IRC) Sector, working with like-minded clients who are driven to set challenging targets and go above and beyond industry standards. I strongly believe we need to urgently change the building industry ‘norm’ and deliver projects that are more sustainable and adaptable for our future.

Over the past few years I’ve been lucky enough to work with nearly all our specialisms, this has allowed me to see how much of a valuable asset they are to our clients, with a career highlight being our RVG team winning our firm’s courageous collaboration award.

I am part of the Bournemouth and Reading Office Leadership team…

…helping drive the strategy for the cost centre across the two offices. I also lead the Product Group where we aim to drive quality and efficiencies within our work. In addition to this, I sit within the Residential Sector Group for the firm, where I utilise my experience of the IRC sector and Residential sector as a whole, to drive our approach and ultimately position ourselves at the forefront of the sector.

On a day to day basis, my role involves leading projects and working with a wide range of industry experts, particularly across the residential and IRC sectors.

Outside of work…

…I love spending time with my family and enjoying the outdoors; alongside a passion for mountain biking, although time constraints make it challenging to enjoy as much as I’d like to.
