A world-class event space.

The YTL Arena Bristol – set to be the UK’s third largest (17,000 capacity) arena – is a venue that will reflect what Bristol is about: independently minded, culturally diverse, and a leader in innovation and engineering.

A rigorous selection process has taken several months, with Grimshaw (in partnership with Manica Architecture and our firm) emerging as the successful team to repurpose the Brabazon hangars at the former Filton airfield. Landscape architects Grant Associates and planning consultants Avison Young will also be supporting the project through the planning process, alongside structural engineers and specialist consultants.

We are thrilled to be part of the design team on this exciting project. We’re providing building services consultancy for the development – specifically mechanical, electrical, sustainability and fire engineering. The YTL Arena will provide a fantastic, world-class event space for Bristol; where people can gather to socialise and experience exceptional performances.

A visionary arena

YTL Arena Bristol Managing Director, Andrew Billingham, said: “We are very excited to announce our design team. This represents a very positive step forward for us. We are now working up our firm proposals to repurpose the Brabazon hangars to create a visionary arena that will put Bristol on the world stage.”
