Andy Vernon joins our Healthcare group.

05/12/2019

We have welcomed Andy Vernon as a new Director of Healthcare.

We have appointed Andy to provide strategic direction to our Healthcare group. With more than 30 years of experience, he has worked with a variety of clients on £750m worth of healthcare schemes ranging from refurbishment programmes to large scale PFI for both the NHS and private clients.

Andy’s wealth of knowledge was garnered on some of the UK’s largest projects, including the Clinical Services Reconfiguration at St James’ Hospital, MRI Guided Radiotherapy, and the High Energy Proton Beam Therapy Centre. His work as MEP lead for the NHS ProCure Frameworks Efficiency & Productivity Programme (EPP) has helped deliver £13.78m of savings for the NHS to date.

Andy joins our experienced Healthcare group, which is headed up by our partners Steve Clifford and Graham Cossons. Now, with this expanded expertise, our firm is further strengthened to play a pivotal role in the development of UK healthcare buildings.

Andy’s new role comes at an interesting time due to the heavy investment in healthcare, the renewal of the ProCure 2020 and HFS 3 frameworks and the imminent growth within the sector. The UK has a history of being at heart of some of the biggest biomedical breakthroughs and is now at the forefront of emerging fields such as digital health and artificial intelligence.

Andy has said:

I’m delighted to be joining Hoare Lea to help the firm continue being pioneers within this sector. I am excited to help the wider team continue to create health and wellbeing focused facilities that directly impact patient care.
