DIY SOS: Grenfell on the BBC.

04/09/2018

Discover the story behind two charitable builds for Grenfell.

Tomorrow night will see the first of the Grenfell DIY SOS Big Build programmes broadcast on BBC1.

The two-part series follows the construction of the brand new buildings created for the Grenfell community in North Kensington.

Our London office volunteered its expertise to both projects, providing MEP, Lighting Design, CGI, Acoustics, Fire Engineering, Utilities & Energy, Vertical Transportation and Sustainability.

In consultation with the community, we supported the conception, planning, detailed design, and nine-week build for both the Dale Youth Boxing Club building and a new two-storey flexible use community centre.

Dominic Meyrick, Partner at Hoare Lea says: “We are proud to have been part of the team on this challenging but extremely worthwhile project. On behalf of Hoare Lea, I would like to thank Featherstone Young for asking us to be part of the design team and also thanks to all the suppliers for their efforts in helping us design this amazing building. Of all the projects we have worked on this one has meant the most, and we hope our humble contribution helps the community to start to heal.”
