The Pill Box

Hip, creative hub in London’s East End.

The Pill Box is a creative hub housing more than 100 businesses. It boasts studios with exposed brick walls, and quirky graphics align the corridors. An airy main entrance area seamlessly combines the award-winning Pill Box Kitchen and Club. Meeting rooms and presentation spaces are available and there is a Club Workspace co-working area which is designed to hold a variety of networking events.

Extensive refurbishment.

Our design for the development of this former pharmaceutical factory involved a variety of aspects. We provided a Category A refurbishment of the whole existing building, the proposed new fifth floor, and the use of the fifth and sixth-floor tower which was being used for cold water storage provision. We also supported the refurbishment of the new ground-floor reception and open space to incorporate a cafe outlet.

Custom features.

Throughout the building the existing redundant services needed to be removed and replaced with modern building services. We also provided a new dynamic lighting installation and luminaire options were developed with the architect. Our Category-A provision not only provided a scheme that complied with the CIBSE Lighting Code LG7, but also allowed incoming tenants to provide supplementary up and downlighters to suit their specific fit-out needs.
